GE series: Low-Endotoxin Gelatin

Arcofeliz™ GE series is a high-performance, low-endotoxin gelatin manufactured by Nagase ChemteX. Derived from premium collagenous tissues (Porcine, Bovine, or Fish), it is a high-molecular-weight polypeptide composed of 18 different amino acids. It features a thermally reversible sol-gel transition, forming a stable, elastic triple-helix network upon cooling.

Physical Properties:

Appearance: Natural protein derived from premium collagenous tissues (Porcine, Bovine, or Fish).
Solubility: Requires a two-step "blooming" and heating process (50-60°C) for complete dissolution.

Isoelectric Point (pI): Varies by processing type: Type A (Acid-treated) has a higher pI, while Type B (Alkaline-treated) has a lower pI.
Biocompatibility: Demonstrates significantly lower pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion (TNF-α, IL-6) compared to standard grades.

Mechanical Properties:

Bloom Strength: High gelling strength of ≧250 g.
Gel Stability: Forms a stable, elastic triple-helix network.
Thermal Sensitivity: Bloom strength and clarity can degrade if heated above 80°C.
Ionic Interaction: Gelatin becomes positively charged when the solution pH is below its isoelectric point, which can cause coagulation with anionic polymers.
