Oxetane resins are 4-membered cyclic ether cationic monomers designed for cationic UV curing polymerization. Applications include UV coatings, toners and recording paper, and IR shielding coatings.
Oxetane compounds are highly reactive and will polymerize by ring-opening polymerization. Their specific chemical structure makes them unique UV photo-cationic monomers showing better performances than conventional epoxy compounds. Specifically, they are effective in reducing viscosity and increasing the cure speed of glycidyl ethers.
