Nagase's subsidiary Totaku Kogyo released its "TAC Ecoline",
a non-vinyl type suction delivery hose to the industry. They
have adopted non-toxic polyolefine-based material. The hose
is suitable for use in food and does not emit any toxic gases
even when incinerated on disposal.
Besides general water supply and drainage, they are going
to sell the hose for powder transportation in food and pharmaceutical
application, and for piping facilities designed to comply
with the ISO14001 standard. The environmentally safe hose
absolutely avoided using 67 substances that the Environmental
Protection Agency listed as questionable, and also heavy metals
such as cadmium, lead and liquid silver.
This hose has the same weatherbility as conventional Vinyl
Chloride hose with anti-pressure performance at a maximum
pressure capacity of 0.5 mega Pascal. The hose is easy to
handle because it is transparent, light-weighted and flexible.
There are 4 types of hoses with nominal diameter of 25, 32,
38, and 50 mm and all come with a standard 20.5 m in length.

issue of the Notification published by Health and Welfare
Ministry of Japan.
