1893 Established Osaka branch office

Established business ties with Basel Chemical Co., of Switzerland (now Ciba Specialty Chemicals Limited)

Established overseas representative office in Lyon, France

Inaugurated as Nagase Shoten Company with capital of ¥3 million

Established business ties with Eastman Kodak Company, of the United States

Concluded exclusive distributorship agreements with Union Carbide and Carbon Corp., of the United States (now Union Carbide Chemicals & Plastics Company, Inc.)

Company name changed to Nagase & Co., Ltd.

Established business ties with Eastman Chemical Products, Inc., of the United States (now Eastman Chemical Company)
