Environmental Management System
On April 28, 2000 we received ISO
14001 certification (No. 772685), the international standard
for environmental management, from Lloyd's Register Quality
Assurance Limited. The certification applies to the entire
company: our Tokyo and Osaka head offices, the Nagoya branch
office, the Nagase R&D Center, and the Hiroshima and Fukuoka
offices.
In July of 1999 President Nagase declared the kick-off of
the Environment Protection Committee which has since set environmental
policy, built the environmental management system and coordinated
our environmental preservation activities.
Achieving ISO 14001 certification provided us with the occasion
to reaffirm our commitment to both active environmental protection
and the community.
